The Watershed PTSA is a team of parents, family members, teachers, staff, students and friends of The Watershed School. Our goal is to bring parents, teachers and students together for a better world. This goal is complimentary to the founding purposes of The Watershed School.
How does the Watershed PTSA help our children? At a state and national level, we are part of one of the largest child advocacy organizations in the country. In our school, we fund and organize activities and events that benefit our children at school, at home, and in our community. We believe that being involved in our school's community leads to higher rewards for our children.
Since 2010, we have purchased or donated thousands of dollars worth of materials and equipment to teachers and the school. We volunteer hundreds of hours every year to provide the school community with events that raise funds and develop relationships.
Events and programs we conduct and/or support:
- Back-to-School Potluck
- After school programs: Spanish Club, Music Club, Ecology Club
- Bike Rodeo
- Field Trips
- Walk-to-School Day
- School Dance
- Gear Swap
- Halloween Carnival
- PTA Reflections Program
- Holiday Local Market
- Thanksgiving Potluck
- Family Science Night
- Snacks for Students during Test Week
- Summer Kids Fair
- Bike-to-School Day
- Teacher Appreciation Week
- Ice Cream Social
- Procurement and Maintenance of Playground Equipment
- Box Tops for Education Program
- Campbell's Labels for Education Program
Without PTSA, many of these activities would not happen.
The PTSA works with the school staff to plan, fund, and coordinate activities
that fulfill the school and PTSA's purposes while providing Watershed families
opportunities to volunteer their required 10 hours per semester.
However, many parents feel compelled to exceed the minimum requirement
